Whether you’re a fan of iced green tea, more of a coffee frappe type, or a vegan who loves their green juices and smoothies, we’ve whipped up some vibrant green drinks that can help you get into the spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day, without having to chug green beer or down Irish whiskey or Bailey’s! Enjoy and Happy Paddy’s Day!
1.1. Green Vegan OG Coffee Frappe
(Based on a recipe in the OGlicious Holiday Cookbook, created by Yuna Novikov)
2 sachets OG Black Coffee
1 cup frozen bananas
2 Tbsp coconut sugar or organic sugar
¾ cup hemp milk, almond milk or your choice of plant-based milk
½ cup ice
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Tip: Try adding organic chocolate sauce, and – in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day – a sprig of fresh mint for a dash of green!
2. Green Fruit FrosTea
(Based on a recipe in the OGlicious Holiday Cookbook, created by Tenesha Kelley)
2 sachets of OG Organic Green Tea
2 cups water (boiled)
10 chunks of your favorite frozen (green) fruit — try some bright green kiwi fruit or some pale green honey dew melon
¼ cup honey
Heat 2 cups of water with the tea bags of your choosing. After letting the tea completely cool down, blend with honey and add fruit. Serve immediately.
Tip: If you don’t have frozen fruit, you can use fresh fruit instead — just blend it with 2 cups of crushed ice.
1.3. Irish-Style Coffee with Amaretto
(Based on the Skinny Nonfat Caramel Macchiato recipe in the OGlicious Holiday Cookbook, created by Heather Hunt)
1 sachet OG Black Coffee
6 oz hot water
1–2 Tbsps sugar-free vanilla syrup
1/3 cup skim or nonfat milk
1 tsp Amaretto (a non-alcoholic almond extract that works well as a substitute for whiskey or Bailey’s)
Mix OG Black Coffee with hot water. Add sugar-free vanilla syrup and Amaretto to the coffee.In a separate mug, add milk, then steam and froth.
Tip: If you don’t have a frother, use microwave or stove to heat milk, then whisk. Slowly add milk and froth to the coffee mug. Drizzle with caramel topping.
Serve hot or cold.
